If your business is affected by COVID-19, try to make sure you update your Google My Business profile so that you customers have the most accurate information. For example, updates the following details:
- Change of business hours.
- Let them know of any delays in service/delivery.
- Additional/special services you’re offering the community.
- Whether you’ve been forced to close for the lockdown for some reason.
These changes will show on your Business Profile on Google Search and Maps.
Temporarily marking your business “Closed” won’t affect local search ranking. If you are offering pickup or delivery services you should not set the business as “Temporarily closed,” else those services won’t show on Google.
